The Auschwitz Foundation, the Center for the History of Resistance and Deportations (Lyon), the Goethe Institute of Lyon and the Museum and Memorial commemorating the children of Izieu organized this conference jointly under the patronage of Auschwitz survivor and former French Minister Simone Veil, Raymond Barre, former French Prime Minister and Deputy Mayor of Lyon, Bernhard Vogel, Minister-President of the Land of Thuringia and Anne-Marie Comparini, President of the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council.
