From Monday 19 to Wednesday 21 April 2027 we organise the colloquium “From Archives to Algorithms: Opportunities and Challenges in Holocaust Research and Education” at CegeSoma in Brussels.

The focus of this conference will be the growing digitalization of our society and the impact it has on Holocaust research, education and memory.
Technologies are rapidly being developed and integrated in all parts of society, changing it fundamentally.
This evolution has a direct impact on our research methods, didactic materials, museum exhibitions, memorial work, etc.

With this colloquium we aim to reflect on the current state of affairs, to discuss new methodologies, to share emerging technologies and to present innovative tools.
Another import goal is to bridge the gaps between (academic) research, heritage and education professionals, allowing for interdisciplinary connections to be made.


CALL FOR PAPERS

We are currently searching for contributors presenting their recent findings, interesting projects or innovative tools on the following subjects:

• Digital research methods for historians
• The future of Holocaust Memory in a digital age
• Holocaust education in the digital age

Keywords: Digital Holocaust studies, Digital Holocaust Memory, Digital Archives, Holocaust Education, Digital Humanities, Digital Ethics, Digital Deontology.

Interested contributors may send a shot abstract of maximum 500 words (in English) and a short CV to Line Maes before 6 November 2026.
